Carla Bley

RIP, and a performance of her song "Lawns" by the CC3

If today is the first time you have ever heard of Carla Bley, you have some SERIOUS catching up to do. She passed away today at 87, and has left behind a legendary body of work and sphere of influence. May she rest in peace, and condolences to her family and loved ones.

I’ve been fortunate to perform her music with Glen Hall and his Ossingtones band, and have played her “hit” song Lawns many times in my own bands.
